So, today was our Monday get together and we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was so fun. The kids had a blast, and of course I forgot the camera. My cousin Jenny brought hers, so I'll have to get some pics from her. The kids were excited to touch the sting rays and star fish. They had fun checking out the various exhibits.
Thanks to everyone that came, it was fun as always!

Camping July 18, 2008
1st camping trip 2008
We went camping with my Girl Scouts and their families on July 18,2008. We camped at the Spruces Campground up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was gorgeous and we had a fun time. (Aside from the monster mosquito bites that some of us got!)
we sold the van!
So, we sold our first official "family" vehicle. sob, sob, sob. I am kinda sad. It was a wonderful car. No major problems, great to drive, easy for kids to navigate, but we were out growing it and it can't pull our utility trailer and camper. So we've upgraded to a suburban (that's a whole nother story...I won't go into details, Josh is still sore about all of it!)

Girl Scout Day Camp July 2008
We spent three days at Girl Scout Day Camp. This year's theme was Under the Big Top.
The Girls had tons of fun learning how to do Yo-Yo tricks, Juggle, Magic Tricks, making Balloon Animals, making streamers, making and trading swaps, and making new friends.

4th of July 2008
Ahhhh.... the 4th of July, the mid point of summer.
And our annual Sidewalk of Fire festivities!
We started the morning off with the kids riding in the local bike parade. We decorated their bikes the night before. This is something they look forward to all summer long. (Almost as much as Will wanting to do fireworks since January)
Getting ready to head up to the race
Dallin taking off, not wanting to wait for anyone.
The line up, with the little kids up front. Will held his own against the older kids at stayed up in front with them.

On your marks, get set, go.....
So, I'm pretty lame, I didn't get any pics of our BBQ or fireworks show. Bummer. It was a good time and Will still wants to know when it's going to be a fireworks day!! :)
Cub Scout Day Camp July 2-3, 2008
I took the Cub Scouts up to camp on the 2 and 3. They participated in various activities throughout both days.
The first day was spent at the Superhero Academy and the second day they were at Jurassic Journey. A lot of of fun was had by all.
Getting ready to race the Bat Mobile.

Lost Birdie
So, our neighbors have an apple tree that overhangs into our yard and during the spring my kids discovered a Robin's nest their. They were very excited when they found an egg in the nest. Just last week they found that the egg had hatched and there was a baby Robin in the nest.
A day or two later Colton came home and saw this bird sitting on our porch. He thought it was a fake one that I had put there, but when he got closer the bird moved.
Well, eventually the bird made it's way to the back porch and the kids and dog were fit to be tied. I wasn't sure that this was the baby robin, but they were convinced that it was. They wanted to bring it in and take care of it and then put it back in it's nest.
But he ended up leaving. Not sure if the dog helped the bird out :( or if it found it's way home.

Caught up for a moment...
Ok, so I am caught up for a moment. I will have plenty to post again next week though. Dallin and I have Cub Scout Camp this week and the girls and I have Girl Scout Day Camp next week. Oh, and who can forget our annual Sidewalk of Fire 4th of July Celebration that's coming up as well. My life's not crazy, not in the least little bit! HAHAHA
BBQ and our backyard
We have been some BBQ'n fools this summer. I practically cook everything outside in the summer. Who doesn't love good BBQ?
This is a Santa Maria Tri-Tip...it was so yummy!
Look at that baby smokin...
Picking some lettuce from the garden for a green salad.
Our dog Chili.
My latest project. I tore up all the "grass" from the hill and made a nice little edge and put some weed fabric down. Next I plan on covering it with some bark.

Dino Trip June 30, 2008.
Every Monday this summer, my sister-in-laws and I and all of our kids get together and go to a local park for lunch and to let the kids all hang out together. Once a month we planned a bigger field trip. This month we went to the Ogden Eccles Dino Museum. Let me tell you...this is no simple adventure. We ( the adults) were totally outnumbered, 19 kids to 3 adults. The kids ranged in age from 14 down to 2.
Some of the kids sitting on a big Dino Croc.
Here's a group shot.
On a trail in Dino land.
Playing at the park.
Will really liked this little Dino. It was just his size.

We had a blast, I would recommend going to check this place out. Josh and I have talked about going for years, but never did. I will definitely take the kids back again sometime.
William and his dog bed.
I ordered some stuff online and it came in this box. Will loves, I mean LOVES boxes. He loads it up with his stuff and carts it around. He even tries to take it the suburban when we have to go somewhere. It's so funny.
Will loves the box so much, he's turned it into a bed. He took all off the blankets of of his bed to make it.
Will and his cousin Conor having a sleepover.

They were watching a movie and I happened to look over and this is how I found Will.
Sound asleep.
A few nights later, Josh and I were checking on the kids before heading to bed and found the boys like this. Will is not one for sleeping by himself lately, so he took his dog bed and set it up in Dallin's bed and went to sleep like this. Imagine how funny this looked when we peeked in on them! Dallin is a great brother to Will and almost always lets Will sleep wit him. This situation didn't last long though, sometime in the middle of the night Will fell out of his dog bed. It was not pretty!Camryn's Girl Scout Awards
For the Girl Scout end of the year Awards Party they had a crazy hat party. The other moms and daughters had some wonderful hats. Congratulations to Camryn on earning 5 badges! Way to go!
