Trip to the Hogle Zoo (07/24/08)

So my sister in law Vicki called this morning and invited us to go to the zoo with her and Connor and Sam. We weren't doing much, so I packed a lunch and packed up the kids and away we went. (Note to those going to the zoo on the 24th of July: mind the 5k route or whatever the race was!)

This is my favorite animal at the zoo. A Red Panda. Look how cute he is. I could just take him home and snuggle with him all day long.
Penguins...it was so hot. I don't blame them for just wanting to lay around.

The zoo has a carousel now, so we had to try it out. I only got pictures of Shawna' and Will because Dallin and Camryn were on the other side of us and I couldn't get a good shot of them.

Going to the zoo is always an adventure. Thanks Vicki for inviting us to go. It was fun.

24th of July Parade in Bountiful (07/23/08)

Grandma, who is 92 and still going strong, invited us down to Heritage Place (where she lives) for hot dogs and to watch the Parade. The best part was, we didn't have to fight for good seats. They roped off an entire section for the residents and their guests. It was fun to see all the parade entrants and to watch the kids enjoy it as well.

Camryn and Will watching the parade. At this point Dallin was long gone going up and down the parade route trying to get as much free stuff as he possibly could. By the end of the parade he had come back with an overflowing arm load of goodies.

Field Trip to the Living planet Aquarium

So, today was our Monday get together and we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was so fun. The kids had a blast, and of course I forgot the camera. My cousin Jenny brought hers, so I'll have to get some pics from her. The kids were excited to touch the sting rays and star fish. They had fun checking out the various exhibits.

Camping July 18, 2008

We went camping with my Girl Scouts and their families on July 18,2008. We camped at the Spruces Campground up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was gorgeous and we had a fun time. (Aside from the monster mosquito bites that some of us got!)

So, we sold our first official "family" vehicle. sob,sob,sob. I am kinda sad. It was a wonderful car. No major problems, great to drive, easy for kids to navigate, but we were out growing it and it can't pull our utility trailer and camper. So we've upgraded to a suburban (that's a whole nother story...I won't go into details, Josh is still sore about all of it!)

Girl Scout Day Camp July 2008

We spent three days at Girl Scout Day Camp. This year's theme was Under the Big Top.

The Girls had tons of fun learning how to do Yo-Yo tricks, Juggle, Magic Tricks, making Balloon Animals, making streamers, making and trading swaps, and making new friends.
